Durkan Delighted Radio One Big Weekend In Derry
SDLP MLA for Foyle, Mark H Durkan, has welcomed that Derry will be a venue for BBC Radio One's One Big Weekend.
"This is an announcement that has excited many people in the City and there is a real buzz about it.
Many have fond memories of the last time we hosted One Big Weekend several years ago and many younger people who missed that are looking forward to this time around.
Derry showed with Sons and Daughters that we can put on a great show and this is another chance for us to showcase the city to a UK wide audience.
Tribute must be paid to those who have worked so hard to secure this gig and ensured that one big ambition has become one big achievement."
