Assembly

Mark H Durkan has represented the Northland area since 2005. As well as chairing Derry City Council's Planning, Policy and Resources Committee and the Environmental Services Committee, Mark has been a member of the Western Education and Library Board and the Health and Social Services Council.

From the Glen Road, Mark is involved in community groups in Ballymagroarty, Hazelbank and Rosemount. He is determined to bring about economic growth and employment in Derry by helping to maximise Derry tourism potential.

Mark has a nine-year-old son, Luke, and is a fan of soccer and GAA.

Mark was elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly in 2011 and has formerly acted as the SDLP's Health and Social Development spokesperson.
