Durkan Congratulates Foyle Parents And Friends Association
SDLP Foyle MLA Mark H Durkan has congratulated the Foyle Parents and Friends Association on its 50TH Birthday at an Event in Stormont.
Mr Durkan who sponsored the event in Stormont's Long Gallery said:
It was a great privilege to be able to bring the Foyle Parents and Friends Association here to congratulate them on 50 years of hard work.
The Association has over those 50 years, helped hundreds and hundreds of families in their quest to improve services for those with learning disabilities.
The fact that the group has never been in receipt of government funding is unfortunately as much an indictment of the Government as it is a credit to the Association; more needs to be done and a more collaborative approach adopted to meeting the needs of the learning disabled and their families.
